We are seeking a full-time permanent Engineering Manager to join the team in Port Melbourne based 100% onsite.

As a highly skilled Engineering Manager you will apply your engineering knowledge and project leadership ability to manage a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the design, development, production and airline customer support of aircraft structural components.

This role also includes working closely within and managing engineering teams collaborating with internal and external customers via the implementation of new designs and/or design changes and providing engineering services to internal and external stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish an open, inclusive and innovative team culture
  • Lead, develop and engage our people within multiple Engineering disciplines
  • Develops and executes integrated plans, policies and procedures and provides input on strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources and provides technical management
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Project leadership and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle
  • Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]) and digital transformation.
  • Identify and create qualitative or quantitative measures of success and failure
  • Select and apply the key parameters and develop standards to monitor progress, provide updates of performance, and plot trends over time
  • Project schedule, resource and risk management

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working in an engineering design office or airline support environment
  • Previous engineering management experience highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and lifecycle management
  • Experience leading projects and implementing business management practices
  • Proven ability to work and lead a diverse multidisciplinary that maybe geographically diverse with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers
  • Experience with change management and demonstrated ability to continually identify and drive the implementation of technical and business improvements and new opportunities
  • Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia

Additional Information:

This is a non-EBA Manager position IJC 6C1KMK. Remuneration will be dependent on skills and experience. The successful candidates will be required to complete a 3 month probationary period.
