We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrical Focal to join our team on a full-time permanent basis based in Port Melbourne. This position is based 100% onsite.

Reporting into the Plant and Equipment Manager, you will be involved in the maintenance and development of a wide range of electrical systems and supporting electrical infrastructure to ensure overall system reliability and availability for the operations teams. You will also support the development of maintenance and facilities improvement programs in order to improve the overall reliability of plant and equipment within the facility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support the asset life cycle planning programs associated with electrical systems across the site
  • Establish a plan to mitigate business risk related to all electrical high voltage and low voltage systems and processes
  • Support site essential service systems including building management systems, fire electrical warning systems, personnel warning system, CCTV systems and site electronic door access systems
  • Hazardous area zoning compliance and improvement programs through the hazardous area dossier system
  • Development of recovery planning associated with the above systems
  • Support the development of conceptual engineering proposals for new plant and equipment proposals that relate to the above areas
  • Investigate engineering proposals for plant and equipment and ensure an emphasis on LLCC, manufacturing conformity, maintainability, reliability and applicable configuration management policies
  • Ensure the BAA site meets or exceeds the electrical regulations and compliance codes of Victoria
  • Support and engage in the tender evaluation and the final equipment integration programs
  • Support the development of additional 3rd party engineering resources to support any shortfalls within the team
  • Provide documented engineering and technical analysis and recommend solutions through investigation and interfacing with key suppliers  
  • Support integration of new critical asset into the BAA maintenance sustaining programs
  • Support the facilities project team with the completion of some tasks associated with the asset hand over program
  • Implement the integration of critical assets into the asset life cycle development programs
  • Implement preventative maintenance planning support, reactive planning programs and asset reliability activities as directed
  • Provide general support for reactive facilities related improvement activities
  • Provide technical expertise in the evaluation of products or equipment and make recommendations
  • Application of 5S and Lean principals to apply to the maintenance and Facilities teams 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant technical qualification
  • Experience in maintenance and facilities within a manufacturing or related environment
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical standards, regulations, safety procedures and able to determine any non-conformance issues
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret highly complex detailed drawings and diagrams of plant and equipment
  • Extensive knowledge in all aspects of repair and maintenance of plant and facilities associated with electrical utilities systems
  • Experience in implementing and development of condition and reliability-based maintenance programs with knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Experience in project management and reporting as well as maintenance and facilities budget and resource management
  • Experience in data analysis, planning and forecasting using an asset management system (Maximo & Cognos preferable)
  • Strong computer-based skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Australian Citizenship in order to meet Defence security clearance requirements 

Additional Information:

This is a non-EBA position IJC 8AAGI2.  Remuneration will be dependent on skills and experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
