Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Facilities Plant Engineer (Associate or Experienced) (Level 2 or 3) to support the Facilities team in Portland, Oregon.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops basic, routine analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)

  • Assists others to facilitate the implementation of basic, routine improvements in asset effectiveness, availability, and maintainability; to specify configuration of new assets in order to support reliability programs

  • Working with maintenance, equipment engineers and operations, analyze equipment failure data and conduct root cause analysis to develop and implement new processes and procedures

  • Design and implement new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment performance

  • Assists others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies

  • Develops basic, routine conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the civil/structural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds

  • With limited supervision, ensures accuracy of drawing archives/libraries

  • Identifies errors and documents changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements

  • With limited supervision, prepares and presents project information to ensure compliance with applicable documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives

  • Uses appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters

  • Coordinates designs

  • Identifies appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology

  • Assists with updating design standards and site-specific operating procedures in order to establish common practices

  • With limited supervision, provides input to infrastructure planning; completes studies; analyzes current conditions and future requirements; recommends capital improvements; gathers and analyzes data; and works with both internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts

  • Participates in projects requiring interdisciplinary engineering support

  • With limited supervision, plans, manages, and executes projects or selected project elements

  • Acquires and modifies assets to enable the customer to achieve the defined business objectives in accordance with company and accounting policies

  • Manages project expenditures within authorized budgets

  • Creates, maintains, and communicates project management information

  • Ensures suppliers comply with all contract obligations

  • Offers project alternatives in order to assure compliance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or other technical degree

  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • 1+ years of experience working with suppliers or vendors

  • 1+ years of experience Facilities Project Management or Construction Management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience using Maximo as a work management tool

  • 3+ years of experience with the Ariba procurement system

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Associate (Level 2): $88,200 - $107,800

Summary Pay Range for Experienced (Level 3): $108,900 - 133,100
