Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking an Associate Multidiscipline Engineer to join us in Ridley Park, PA.    

At Boeing, we are a leader in aerospace innovation, committed to delivering advanced solutions for military and commercial aviation. The V-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical lift capability of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing airplane. We are seeking a Level 2 Multidiscipline Engineer to join our dedicated V-22 Aircraft Structure & Systems team and contribute to the ongoing success of this iconic platform.

Position Responsibilities:  

As a Level 2 Multidiscipline Engineer, you will be instrumental in solving complex engineering problems throughout the product lifecycle of the V-22 Osprey. Your role will involve collaboration across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering. You will also address challenges related to supplier shortages, supplier escapements, and obsolescence, ensuring the integrity and performance of the aircraft.

  • Engineering Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve engineering challenges that arise during the design, development, testing, and operational phases of the V-22 Osprey. Employ root cause analysis and innovative solutions to mitigate issues for production

  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with supply chain teams to identify and address potential supplier escapements and shortages. Develop strategies to ensure continuity of supply and maintain the integrity of engineering designs

  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with engineers from various disciplines to ensure integrated solutions that meet project requirements. Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing among team members to enhance project outcomes

  • Customer Proposals and Contracts: Assist in the preparation of customer proposals and contracts for engineering change proposals (ECPs). Ensure that proposed changes align with customer needs and regulatory requirements while maintaining project timelines and budgets

  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices within the engineering team. Stay current with industry trends and advancements to enhance engineering capabilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven leadership in cross-functional coordination

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):  

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Level 2 - Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience or Master’s

  • 1+ years of experience in an engineering role in aerospace or defense.

  • 1+ years of project leadership and cross functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):    

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related field).

  • 1+ years of experience in engineering software tools and simulation programs

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range (level 2):  $79,050 - $106,950
