The Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer (Flight/Mission/System Test) to join our team in Ridley Park, PA. This position will support the Flight Test Engineering (FTE) team for Boeing’s vertical lift division. This Test & Evaluation Engineerrole will be responsible for flight test planning, execution and reporting for CH-47 Chinook & MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopters. This position will require the ability to participate in and conduct on-board flight testing in support of domestic and foreign military aircraft as well as FAA civil certification. The Test & Evaluation Engineer will be expected to generate formal test plans based on engineering requirements and ensure required data is captured. Will be expected to lead pre- and post- flight briefings with Boeing and external aircrew. Note this role could require travel up to 25% of the time and sometimes to remote testing locations both domestically and internationally.  At times, non-standard/extended working hours, weekends and/or holidays may be required.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced, or Subject Matter ExpertTest & Evaluation Engineer (Flight/Mission/System Test).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordination & collaboration with Boeing & external test team partners

  • Preparation of test planning documentation

  • Conduct test team briefing & debriefing

  • On-board aircraft test conduct

  • Control room test participation and leadership

  • Post-test reporting

  • Develop and assess testing hazards and risk mitigations

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime and occasional weekends when necessary

  • Must have the ability to obtain a FAA class 3 medical physical

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working on aircraft ground and/or flight test

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering

  • Experience supporting multiple military platform test programs

  • Experience with FAA certification activities, processes, and procedures

  • Hands-on experience with IADS data visualization clients, including real-time data monitoring and analysis

  • Data reduction and analysis experience with Excel / Matlab

  • Experience with proper aeronautical radio communications and protocols

  • Experience with flight test instrumentation design, implementation, installation and monitoring

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range for Associate level: $85,850 - $116,150

Summary Pay Range for Experienced level: $102,000 - $138,000

Summary Pay Range for Subject Matter Expert level: $121,550 - $164,450
