The Space, Intelligence, & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) organization is seeking a Direct Attack Chief Engineer/Senior Engineering Manager (Level M) for the Precision Engagement Systems/Weapons Engineering Team based in Saint Charles, MO. This position is responsible for management and oversight of the Weapons Direct Attack (DA) Engineering Team in support of DA programs which includes Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), Powered JDAM (PJDAM), Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare Weapon (HAAWC) and B-61.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform as the senior Chief Engineer in support of Direct Attack (DA) Programs with oversight and approval of technical approaches, integrated plans, products, procedures and processes

  • Oversee all aspects of program engineering and Integrated Product Teams throughout the development, build and support phases

  • Ensures engineering integrity, safety and quality of all products in adherence to company processes

  • Responsible for the Program’s ability to meet cost, schedule, technical and compliance requirements

  • Perform as the DA Engineering focal for Enterprise Engineering initiatives such as Model-based Engineering, Design Practices and Technical Lead Engineer constructs

  • Senior technical point of contact to executive leadership, other functions and customers. Formulates Engineering position and communicating that position when elevation is required

  • Responsible for the portfolio technology roadmap and oversight and management of IRAD projects

  • Technical leadership and development of Program Chief Engineers, and establishing talent pipeline to develop future chief engineers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or greater.  Preferred degrees include electrical engineering, computer science, aerospace, systems engineering, engineering management, industrial engineering mechanical engineering, mathematics, physics, or similar scientific or engineering fields of study

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading (formal and/or informal) cross-functional engineering teams

  • Minimum of 10 years of execution and technical leadership on development or production programs

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with weapon system development, production and sustainment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master of Science degree in an engineering field of study

  • Production and development experience

  • Experience with process definition and improvement initiatives, including MBE/MBSE

  • Prior experience as the technical authority of an integrated product or role as a chief engineer

  • Experience with presenting to program leaders and to customers

  • Experienced written and verbal communication skills

Summary pay range: $178,500 - $241,500
