Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) are looking for Experienced Workplace Coaches to join our Executive Fleet and Workforce Planning and Development teams in San Antonio, TX.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

In this role you will be critical in the effort to reduce rework and improve first time quality, Promote safety, and initiate process improvement across all Aircraft Programs on the San Antonio Texas site. Your aircraft and electrical expertise will be instrumental in building a strong versatile work force that will drive down cost while bolstering production and first-time quality.

Position Responsibilities:

Electrical Workplace Coach (WPC)

  • Candidate must be self-driven and have the ability to learn and develop employees in all electrical and avionics-based aircraft skills

  • Must be familiar and have experience with major electrical aircraft modifications and be able to articulate, teach, and coach detailed operations therein to include but not limited to the following: sealing, wrapping, bonding, soldering, tying, crimping, terminations, and the closure of wire harnesses, shielded wires, coaxial cables, cable routing/assembly, and fiber optic wiring.

  • Leads and coaches employees with detail on electrical operations, testing, referencing, and all the associated process specifications.

  • Shall have a strong ability to operate and coach the proper usage of electrical test equipment to include but not limited to the following: TDRs, light loss testers, Milli-Ohm Meters, DMMs, and Oscilloscopes

  • Demonstrates/coaches how to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair.

  • Must be comfortable reporting out to site and senior leadership.

  • Requirement for all site programs.

  • Must be able to work with minimal oversight and deliver positive results, while adhering to all Safety and FOD Pro’s and Processes.

  • Must have good people skills in a teaching / coaching environment.

Structures Workplace Coach (WPC)

  • Candidate must be self-driven and have the ability to coach and develop employees in all Structures and general mechanic-based aircraft skills.

  • Must be familiar and have experience with major structural modifications and be able to articulate, inform., and coach detailed operations therein to include but not limited to the following:

  • Able to use common hand tools such as: drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, bucking bars, etc.

  • Able to setup and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as:  dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors, and calipers, etc.

  • Experience with various types of materials such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, carbon fiber, fiberglass.

  • Experienced in the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level Modifications and Repair of Structural Components. Knowledgeable of the differences between primary and secondary structures. 

  • Able to assemble aircraft structures and associated components with the aid of jigs and fixtures by: drilling, filing, filling, honing, reaming, counter-sinking, dimpling, burring and fastening.

  • Ability to perform close tolerance layout, drilling, reaming, removal and installation of critical support structures and fracture critical components while performing structural Modifications and Repair.

  •  With limited supervision, able to perform close tolerance assembly operations such as:  shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning where variances may occur considerably from one assembly to another as with fairings and the mating of major structural assemblies.

  • Able to perform the following: replace ribs, stiffeners, stringers in skinned assemblies establishing from blueprints with firm callouts, butt, center, chord, station and water lines.

  • Able to perform the following: pickup blind hole locations for blank parts from existing structure.  Correct cans, buckles, wrinkles in outer skins, perform cold working, shot peen, and freeze plug processes.

  • Able to operate such equipment as brakes, grinders, band saws, and presses.

  • With limited supervision, able to identify different types of corrosion, clean and treat corrosion, remove damaged areas, fabricate parts to repair damaged area, determine rivet patterns, layouts, perform shop painting, etc.

  • Possesses experience with general mechanics and articulates the proper repairs of aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems and mechanical components

  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions

  • Applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation

  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation

  • Demonstrates/coaches how to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair.

  • Must be comfortable reporting out to site and senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years modification experience at an airline or an MRO

  • Experience working with a GOLD Uniface/GOLDesp application computing system

  • 5+ years experience with understanding of TUI's, REDARS, PSDS, IETMs and HMS database's

  • 5+ years experience experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • In addition, for Electrical candidates, the candidate must have at least 5 years or more of aircraft Avionics experience on a minimum of 2 aircraft platforms

  • For Structures candidates, General Mechanic Experience is desired.

  • Be comfortable delivering information verbally in one on one or group settings

  • Must possess the skill to learn and teach multiple platforms

  • Must have knowledge of QMS and assist in root cause corrective actions for any quality defects

Summary Pay Range: 79,050 - 106,950
