Boeing Brazil is seeking Expert Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer, reporting directly to the Safety and Airworthiness Manager , working out of the Sao Jose Dos Campos. The Expert Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer will lead certification efforts such as: process definition, audit, and Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs). Providing guidance on regulatory requirements and enhancing the certifiability of products to minimize future certification risks are also key aspects of this role.

The successful candidates have solid certification experience, experience in the development and execution of project and process and implement policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and collaborate with the Federal Aviation Administration and foreign regulatory agencies, mainly Agencia Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), to execute Supplemental Type Certificate and international type validation projects.
  • Planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Lead and facilitate discussions with the FAA, foreign regulatory agencies, mainly Agencia Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), and airplane program leaders.
  • Review and coordinate with other airworthiness engineers as well as internal engineering disciplines performed at all levels of total system.
  • Lead technical airworthiness planning and verification support including development and negotiation of airworthiness plans, basis of certifications, means of compliance, and certification activities for complex total systems.
  • Lead the development of solutions for complex issues related to certification and team members accordingly.
  • Building relationships and interfacing with other members of the program, leadership, customers, and suppliers to meet team objectives.
  • Navigate various regulatory processes to find solutions to complex problems, while providing guidance to all airplane programs.
  • Ensure regulator actions are successfully captured, implemented, and closed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate airplane validation risks to across all models.
  • Define and communicate validation task priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional technical issues.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Must have a degree in Engineering
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Senior level of experience with designing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Senior level of experience in a role developing, leading, and executing projects and utilizing project processes / skills.
  • Senior level of experience in FAA/EASA/ANAC certification or airworthiness.
  • Previous aerospace industry experience.
  • Senior level of experience with airplane safety and certification processes.
  • Senior level of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.

Additional Information: 

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.  

Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil.
