Position Overview:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) Organization seeks a Network Engineer to support proprietary programs network operations for OCONUS customers. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and performance for critical systems and applications with varying operating systems and hardware interfaces.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to support operational requirements.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.

  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with security policies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.

  • Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend enhancements and innovations to the network infrastructure.

  • Participate in on-call support rotation to address network incidents and outages as they arise.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires a successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

This position is contingent upon award.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Experience with Cisco switching, routing and firewall hardware and common network concepts such as LAN/WAN, perimeter, IPSec, routing/switching, packet filtering, IDS/IPS, authentication, cabling, and troubleshooting

  • Experience performing network security implementations or assessments

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends, with the ability to recommend enhancements to network infrastructure

  • Experience conducting network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to best practices

  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining accurate records of network configurations, processes, and procedures

  • Previous experience in a similar role supporting OCONUS customers or proprietary programs

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range, Associate - level 2: $79,900 - $116,150

Summary pay range, Experienced - level 3: $96,050 - $139,150
