The Boeing Company’s Human Resources (HR) Systems and Services organization is seeking a Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) Configuration Lead to join our team in Seattle, WA or Berkeley, MO.

The Workday HCM Lead is responsible for the strategy, configuration, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Workday Human Capital Management system. This role leads system design and supports HR processes such as Core HCM, Business Processes, Security, Reporting. The Workday HCM Lead partners with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure optimal functionality and end-user experience while serving as a technical and functional subject matter expert. The workday HCM Lead should have some understanding on other domains like Absence, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting and Payroll.

The ideal applicant for this role will have previous experience with Workday implementation and post implementation optimization and a sound understanding of HR processes and operational framework.

The selected applicant will have a User-Centered-Design / Human-Centered-Design mindset and experience empathizing with users and developing problem statements that address the needs of our various employee personas.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop a continuous delivery pipeline through escalation of impediments, ensuring value delivery, and driving relentless improvement
  • Act as a consultant on the development, execution and coordination of system readiness testing
  • Provide subject matter Testing and Data Management Support for critical projects
  • Coordinate with business and technology teams integrating system and data requirements
  • Provide Workday Operational support
  • Support recurring operational events and actions
  • Support Workday product offerings (HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Adaptive Planning, etc.) along with some legacy HR applications
  • Execute events in Workday, as well as EIBs and mass operation moves to support the events
  • Research, identify, and recommend industry best practices for solving business technology problems
  • Partner with Information Technology to provide analysis of Workday feature/functionality research
  • Collaborate with Business Process Architects, HR COEs and IT to assess change impacts for incoming work requests
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Support the Workday Adoption Roadmap process
  • Drive an operational model that efficiently and effectively influences Workday functionality uptake by leveraging brainstorms, design partner, early adopter and other customer product management options
  • Provide Post-Production Support
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and guidance to HR users and functional leads.
  • Provide Hypercare leadership and support for major releases of new capabilities
  • Partner with IT in administration and monitoring of systems post-implementation
  • Support change management and training of deployed systems
  • User Centered Design (UCD) leadership and coaching
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to establish and enhance existing UCD culture, processes and methods
  • Lead processes associated with User Centered Design, especially related to the design and evaluation stages of design processes
  • Drive continuous improvement of employee experience through aligning / optimizing HR technologies to employee needs
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
  • Develop and coach team members
  • New work/project impact analysis
  • Facilitate open communication and fact-based decision making
  • Assist with economic decision-making through feature and capability estimation

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • 5+ years of experience in Requirements Management
  • 5+ years of experience with requirements-based testing
  • 5+ years of experience with the Workday HR Management System

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • One or more of the following Workday Partner/Customer Certifications: Workday HCM Core, Workday Payroll, Workday Compensation/Advanced Compensation, Workday Benefits, Workday Recruiting, Workday Time Tracking, Workday Absence, Workday Performance and Talent or Workday Adaptive Planning
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required Project Management skills
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements
  • Experience in design thinking, user centered design, human centered design

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $153,000 - $207,000
