The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Chief Engineer (Virtual) to join the Boeing Company.  Join us as the Chief Engineer of the Software Engineering Modeling, Simulation and Emulation, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping Boeing's future simulation framework to support all programs throughout their lifecycle. In this dynamic position, you will serve as the lead technical authority for our organization, reporting directly to the Director. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the technical integrity of our products, advocating for the organization's strategic direction, and driving innovation in simulation and modeling. 

We are looking for a visionary leader with deep expertise in aerospace simulation, behavioral modeling of complex systems, and hardware emulation. Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical Direction: Oversee the design and development of Boeing's future simulation framework, including hardware emulation and cloud deployments
  • Technical Leadership: Guide the Engineering Office, promoting collaboration and aligning technical strategies with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to ensure the simulation framework meets diverse aerospace lifecycle needs and outperforms legacy solutions.
  • Strategic Advocacy: Champion the strategic direction of the organization by making informed technical decisions that support team initiatives and drive overall success.
  • Legacy System Modernization: Lead the modernization of simulation software to align legacy systems with Boeing's future vision.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with object-oriented programming languages, such as C/C++, Java, Rust, or Python.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with software development tools such as: GitLab, Bazel, Cargo, Make, Docker or similar technologies.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software and hardware-in-the-loop simulation for complex and dynamic systems, such as air, space, and underwater vehicles.
  • Experience with cloud-platform technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Masters, Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Familiarity with behavioral modeling and tools like MATLAB/Simulink for simulation integration.
  • Understanding of hardware emulation and its role in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of aerospace systems, including mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, and flight controls.
  • Understanding of real-time software architecture and design methodologies for simulation frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage change efforts within an organization, driving transformation and engaging stakeholders effectively.

Summary pay range for Experienced:  $174,250.00 - $270,250.00
