Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has a career defining opportunity for an Experienced Quality Engineer (Level 3/4) to join the AEW&C USAF RP program Quality Team located in Tukwila, Washington.

The selected candidate will work with Boeing Quality Engineering teammates to support all aspects of mobilization and execution of our internationally located modification center in the United Kingdom (mod site 1) along with I&CO activity performed in Puget Sound in 14-01 Thompson Site (mod site #2)

Position Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for developmental programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • May provide material review disposition insight for non-conformance processing
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformance's.
  • Performs bench marking and other forms of analysis (APQP) to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
  • 3+ years of experience developing/managing metrics and root cause corrective actions (RCCA)
  • 3+ years of experience working with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100))
  • 1+ years of experience in the application / deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or AS9145 within organizations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications, (CQA-Certified Quality Auditor); (CQE-Certified Quality Engineer); (CQT-Certified Quality Technician)
  • Experience applying audit standards, procedures and techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience in Project Management or engineering project planning.
  • 1 or more years of experience in aerospace
  • Experience working with quality inspection
  • Experience working in manufacturing and/or production

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: $94,350 - $127,650
