The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Integrated Planning and Scheduling Specialist to join the E-7A Wedgetail program.

Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation, development, coordination, scheduling, and change management activities of maintaining an integrated plan to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards.
  • Participate in maintaining, analysing and producing metrics related to plans.
  • Assist more experienced personnel with risk assessments, developing mitigation plan and refining the business case.
  • Develop, collect, organise and provide data, update task, to maintain status of programs, schedule, customer and supplier commitments and compliance.
  • Coordinate document work statements and resulting schedules.
  • Identify and provide reports on performance variances, project status, change information to project team.
  • Communicate plan changes and recovery plans to ensure commitment to stakeholders.
  • The duties to be undertaken will include those set out in the Employee's Job Classification or such other duties as reasonably directed by the Company on a permanent or temporary basis.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Advanced Open Plan Professional (OPP) experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of providing technical leadership on planning and scheduling activities necessary to deliver execution success for large scale complex projects within the Defence Industry.
  • Extensive experience in Project Planning, Project Scheduling, EVM Systems in a commercial environment.
  • Thorough understanding of critical path analysis and the ability to tailor information and data for presentation to various stakeholders and levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to create project schedules to identify overall timeframe for project activities to meet the defined project objectives (to include major milestones), identify resource requirements for projects, and manage those resources throughout the project life cycle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principles (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.) contained in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK[R] Guide.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project planning principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes on budget and on plan. Ability to define, design and plan projects, achieve project deliverables, and optimise the contributions of internal and external resources.
  • Possesses direct understanding of scheduling methodologies used in industry. Possesses a working knowledge of scheduling process, data requirements and tools required to implement each methodology. Able to apply method, process and tool knowledge to develop, maintain, analyse and provide visibility of schedules.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills
  • Defence security clearance (desirable)
