The Payloads & Flammability Certification Organization is seeking a Senior Flammability Regulatory Compliance Engineer to join Boing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a DER or E-UM finding compliance to 14 CFR 25.853, 25.855, & 25.856 and utilizing 14 CFP Appendix F parts I – VII.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and maintain Engineering Unit Member credentials, witness certification tests, evaluate design and test data, provide consultation to design teams, and make findings of compliance on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration.

  • Develop and define requirements, materials, specifications, parts, and processes used in the engineering, design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products.

  • Conduct analysis to characterize the performance or determine the reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes. Implements corrective or preventive actions to address performance issues and failures.

  • Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations using project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 1 or more years of experience do you have with regulatory compliance certification

  • FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER), or a company Organization Designation Authorization (ODA)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience as an E-UM or DER with FAA delegation for Chart A - structural coordinates L4 & L11 (Design & Construction & Flammability of Interior Materials).

  • Experience with flammability certification of commercial airplanes under Boeing's ODA processes in the following areas of title 14 of the code of federal regulations:
            ○ 25.853(a) & Appendix F part I;
            ○ 25.853(c) & Appendix F part II;
            ○ 25.853(d) & Appendix F parts IV,V;
            ○ 25.855(c) & Appendix F part III
            ○ 25.856(a)(b) & Appendix F parts VI,VII

  • Current Boeing ODA E-UM delegation in the areas noted above; or a willingness & ability to seek obtaining Boeing E-UM flammability delegation within 9 months of hire, combined with recent Boeing flammability certification experience and training (within the past year) that will help enable this objective.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
