The Boeing Global Services' team is searching for a Senior Electrical Systems Design and Systems Integration Engineer (Lighting), situated in Long Beach, California.This position is to support the C-17 military cargo aircraft operated around the world.  The successful candidate has an ability to perform systems integration; has experience with lighting systems and able to take on cognizant engineer responsibilities; read wiring diagrams, system schematics, block diagrams; read electrical drawings such as wire harness, equipment installation; and resolve technical problems.  This position requires someone that is self-motivated and has leadership skills.  C-17 engineering is a customer focused organization and the ability to build strong customer relationships is a must.  Looking for a dynamic person that can demonstrate their skills, mentor earlier career engineers, and utilize/develop LED technology knowledge.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Applies understanding/knowledge of Electrical Lighting System
  • Assumes cognizant engineering responsibilities for some Electrical Lighting System subsystems
  • Reads wiring diagrams, system schematics, and block diagrams
  • Supports analysis and design reviews
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
  • Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
  • Supports the sustainment, development, and documentation of aircraft systems, primarily electrical and electro-mechanical system design (will include interacting directly with USAF customer, Field Engineers, and C-17 aircraft)
  • Performs root cause analysis for field issues, provides corrective actions, and communicates with USAF customer (including presentations)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Long Beach, CA.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  


Required Education, Skills and Experience   

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of Electrical Lighting Systems experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Electrical design; including but not limited to Electrical Systems design, Wire Design, Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design, Electrical Lighting Systems

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience with aircraft wiring diagrams and system schematics
  • 3+ years of leadership or project management experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD), utilizing model-based definition, preferably on Unigraphics Nx
  • 1+ years of experience with Siemens Capital tool

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $129,000 to $173,000
