Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has an exciting opportunity for an Mid-Level Quality Product AcceptanceSpecialist to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, CA.

As a member of the Quality Organization at Spectrolab you will be working with a dedicated team of quality professionals that take pride in their work and in supporting efforts to ensure our world class aerospace products conform to the high standards that we expect of ourselves and our customers expect of us as well.  

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Performs in process inspection of solar cells, solar panels, searchlights and searchlight components for conformance to requirements

  • Perform inspection of incoming products and materials to verify conformance 

  • Perform document management as part of the configuration control department

  • Applies standard inspection techniques for product verification including use of various inspection tools, microscope, eye loop, etc. and provides objective evidence of results

  • Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification

  • Prepares Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) books for Product Acceptance

  • Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements

  • Provides objective evidence of results

  • Identifies and documents discrepancies

  • Segregates and controls non-conforming items

  • Performs preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance

  • Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • 3+ years’ experience in Inspection and Inspection Techniques

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

  • 3+ years’ experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment to include knowledge/proficiency with calipers, height and depth gauges, micrometers, microscopes, eye loops, and other measurement tools

  • Experience performing quality processes such as parts testing, data collection and recording production/processing samples

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Good communication skills to be able to articulate matters clearly both verbally and in writing

  • ISO9001/AS9100 knowledge and experience

  • Experience with semiconductors and/or solar cells

  • Experience with SAP

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Summary pay range: USD $56,950 – $77,050
