Boeing Defence UK have a  Production Controller vacancy based at RAF Lossiemouth, Scotland.

The Boeing P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft is a military aircraft developed by Boeing Defence, built on a modified design of the 737-800ERX. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including protecting submarines and reconnaissance missions. The platform was initially developed for the US Navy, first flown in 2009 and introduced in 2013. In 2019, the UK Ministry of Defence received the first of a fleet of nine P-8A Aircraft. While continuing to support the UK customer at RAF Lossiemouth under its own contract with the UK MOD, BDUK will also support our international customers as they enter their own fleets into service in the coming years.

You will be required to work a rotating shift pattern of 07:00-15:00 and 15:00-23:00.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Processes and moves production and other materials into and out of storage, production and other locations to support complex production and product support activities

  • Monitors and analyses work in process.

  • Updates status of parts and materials using automated systems.

  • Identifies and reports problems and recommendations to insure parts availability

  • Analyses problems and resolves or reconciles discrepancies with parts and materials to maintain inventory and system accuracy

  • Coordinates with various functions to set priorities, expedite and complete production activities to avoid schedule delays

  • Works under limited supervision

  • Stores Housekeeping and general Store duties

  • Identifies and resolves customer issues and discrepancies.

  • Loading and Unloading of consignments as required and deliver equipment to the customer.

  • Achieve set targets and objectives.

Required skills / experience:

  • Must have experience of warehouse operations, ideally within the Aviation/Defence industry in a fast-paced warehouse environment

  • Flexible, highly motivated with a pro-active approach to assigned duties.

  • Used to manual handling techniques to move equipment around the warehouse

  • Able to work within a small and dynamic team.

  • Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word. Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrate sound communication skills to deal with all customers and colleagues.

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to obtain UK SC Clearance

Preferred Experience

  • NVQ in Warehouse and Distribution

  • Experience in Defence/Aerospace  industry

This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security Clearance for which the UK Government requires UK residency. The successful candidate will hold, or have the ability to obtain, Security Clearance (SC).
