The KC-46 Maintenance Training Systems (MTS) Program is seeking a Training Device Technician/ Site Lead to oversee the stand-up and sustainment of the KC-46 Regional Maintenance Training Facility. This position will be on-site at McConnell Air Force Base, located in Wichita Kansas. The Training Device Technician will be responsible for coordinating the establishment of initial site facilities infrastructure and logistics support plan, monitoring subcontractor efforts, and conducting ongoing execution, performance management and data collection during the Operation & Sustainment phase of KC-46 maintenance training activities. This position will report to the KC-46 Site Services Manager and will be accountable to the KC-46 MTS Program Management team.

Job Description Summary:

Repairs, tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software. Coordinates and consults with vendors and/or customers to determine the level of maintenance or repair to be performed on training device and/or components. Performs detailed inspections for pre-operations, post-operations and component handling. Inspects components and or LRU's to verify status prior to installation. Consults with engineers in troubleshooting systems and support equipment. Troubleshoot to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Works minimal supervision.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform logistics support including receipt of hardware and support equipment and subsequent monitoring and reporting of inventory.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance during initial build and installation phases to ensuring correct configuration and performance requirements are met. 
  • Facilitate the operation and sustainment of KC-46 maintenance training activities including 8 Virtual Maintenance Training Classrooms, six Augmented Hardware Training Devices, and associated network and support infrastructure within the schoolhouse.
  • Monitor and assist a team of six sub-contracted logistics support personnel who support IT infrastructure, set-up, maintenance of classrooms and training devices, and perform routine inventory management and support equipment calibration.
  • Collect and distribute data and information required to ensure optimal performance and status reporting for KC-46 maintenance training activities in partnership with the Training Support Service Center located at McConnell AFB, KS.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and partners
  • Identify and manage program risks, issues and opportunities.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Associates Degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance, Maintenance Training or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in an aircraft maintenance related field
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in training, maintenance, or fleet support for the KC-46, 767, or other fixed-wing aircraft platforms
  • Experience working with United States Air Force or United Stated Government customers

Summary Pay Range: $64,600- $87,400
