Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking Experienced Production Test Electrical + Test Heavy Assemblers (Level B or Level C) to join the 787 Program in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift!

In this position you will perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

Primary Responsibilities:   

  • Performs functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components as well as perform aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair.

  • Assesses and documents test or analysis data to show compliance.

  • Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

  • Identifies roadblocks and production constraints escalating issues which cannot be resolved by the team using open and clear communication.

  • Supports teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross training and mentoring.

  • Adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to regulation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC (BSC).

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).

  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing.

  • 1+ years of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials.

  • 1+ years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.

  • 1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with functional testing of aircraft electrical systems.

  • 3+ years of experience with functional testing of IFE systems knowledge.

  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair experience.

  • 1+ years of experience with 787 Program Experience.

Shift:

This position is for variable shift. Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation of the need.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range level B: $58,000 - $64,000

Summary pay range level C: $68,000 - $78,000
