The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Structures & Payload Design Engineer team is seeking a Structures & Payload Design Engineer to join our team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The position requires working directly with the government personnel and supporting liaison type work across multiple aircraft.

It requires working various Liaison areas like MRB/202s, Tech orders, Boeing drawings and inquires to list a few.

Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.

Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):   

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Provides and integrates engineering skills, knowledge, and experience in lean build, delivery, post-production, modification, and recovery processes to influence concept and product definition resulting in affordable, producible and sustainable products.
  • Product Integration Engineering creates/designs products such as: architecture for build, critical path analysis, supply chain analysis, product review and disposition, supplier MRB authorization and surveillance, build to, buy to, support to packages, work instructions/NC programs, tooling design, build and support plans, design and production validations, and spares, retrofit, repairs, and modification instructions.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with the Tinker customer.
  • MRB knowledge.
  • Experience with government systems.
  • Experience with any of the platforms being supported, B1, B-52, KC135 and or E3. 
  • Experience resolving engineering drawing questions using REDARS.

Summary pay range: $105,400 - $142,600

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
