The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to support Air Dominance and Fighters programs located in Berkeley, MO.

The Air Dominance portfolio includes exciting products such as F15 Eagle, F/A-18 Super Hornet, EA-18 Growler, MQ-25 Stingray, and the T7 Redhawk. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing systems engineering and integration throughout the life cycle of these various Air Dominance programs. The supported programs are in different program life cycle stages (development, production, and sustainment). The position requires the ability to closely coordinate with the domestic and foreign customers, engineering leadership, and various engineering teams throughout different stages of the product life cycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 14+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR 12+ years of work-related experience with a Masters OR 9+ years of work related experience with a PhD
  • 5+ years of experience in system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation
  • Experience in new technology or product/capability development
  • Experience in an engineering leadership role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers
  • Experience with military aircraft development lifecycle
  • Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Education/experience in 1 or more of the following: Cameo, MSOSA, Rhapsody, DOORS

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:

Level 5: $147,050 - $198,950
