The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Equipment & Tool Designer (Asset Design) located in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
  • Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision.
  • Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan.
  • Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
  • Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and validates spares requirements.
  • Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work.
  • Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training.
  • Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution.
  • Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration.
  • Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 4+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years of work-related experience with an Associate’s degree OR 8+ years of work-related experience in tool design or tool fabrication
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range:

Level 4: $75,650 - $102,350


Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
