About the role (what you will support with)

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for an experienced Strategic Workforce Planner to join the MQ-28 Program. Applicants will have demonstrated experience in establishing workforce management processes and systems within complex project environments. Experience within Defence Industry will be favourably regarded.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transitioning program resource requirements into a robust and strategic workforce plan, by partnering with key stakeholders across business groups to conduct workforce planning, identify workforce risks and opportunities and to ensure the effective provision of resources and capabilities.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Partner with Program Leadership and functional areas to identify future skills, competencies and pipeline needs required to meet customer and program requirements
  • Develop a strategic approach to workforce management for MQ-28 Program that combines insights from workforce analytics, best practices and business strategy
  • Supports the coordination and clarifies the analysis with business partners to validate and scope the approach to meet long range business goals
  • Collaborate with internal business areas and Talent Acquisition team to target talent gaps required for pipeline growth through the provision of support tools and specialist advice.
  • Ensure sufficient time is planned to support business needs through onboarding, training, and deployment of a new workforce
  • Work with leadership and business functions to determine the critical roles, competencies and functions for successful strategy execution
  • Coordinate commitments across internal and external organisations to fulfill Workforce Planning strategy.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, developing associated plans and business cases where required.
  • Leverage integrated planning and workforce information to enable business groups and project team to understand workforce implications resulting from changes in demand and supply at a tactical and strategic level.
  • Develop, implement and embed workforce planning tools and capability.

About you (what you bring to the role)

You are an experienced planner and creative problem solver who will bring technical skills, effective communication and relationship building strengths to support our MQ-28 Program. You are someone who is comfortable working autonomously and as part of a wider community to seek and drive continuous improvement.

  • Experience in developing and implementing workforce planning solutions within a complex environment;
  • Experience working within a Program or Project Management Office;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all workforce planning areas in accordance with accepted industry standards;
  • High level communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on building successful relationships with a broad range of stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to exert influence at multiple organizational levels;
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
