The opportunity

We are seeking a talented Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join the P-8A Program. This is an opportunity to provide direct sustainment support to real time flying operations for the P-8A Poseidon Fleet. The role is based at RAAF Edinburgh and is an on-site requirement to support maintenance teams. There is also a requirement to be available for shift work Monday to Friday and possible exercise support at other RAAF Base locations within Australian shores.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and be able to meet Defence Security vetting and Boeing Global Trade Controls (Essential).
  • Must have or be able to acquire NV1 security clearance (Essential).

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee staff activities to meet customer objectives so not to impact aircraft maintenance schedules.
  • Lead and facilitate the delivery of supply chain activities, contributing to delivery on time and on budget.
  • Provide supply chain and commercial guidance to aircraft maintenance teams in relation to equipment requests and investigations.
  • Identify, investigate, and discuss corrective actions with customers for overdue products or services impacting aircraft maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee and assist staff with postproduction supply chain data to optimise stock replenishments.
  • Produce weekly status reports and take appropriate action to clear anomalies.
  • Be available for shift work.
  • Be available to participate on in-country deployment exercises for at least a 2-week period bi-annually.
  • Oversee general operations of the Logistic area and staff execution requirements.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years Defence Industry Experience (Essential)
  • Sound understanding of Defence Logistics policies and procedures (Essential).
  • Competent forklift operator (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in Defence information management systems such as CAMM2, NETMAARS, ADAASS, MILIS and LNIDS.
  • Understanding of Shelf-Life management, quarantine control and hazardous product management.
  • Demonstrated performance by way of achieving organizational objectives, showing adaptability, and initiative when facing various conflicting tactical and strategic changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated management of small to medium teams
  • Demonstrated communication skills for effective engagement with stakeholders.
