Jeppesen, A Boeing Company is looking for a Technology Lead Engineer based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Amsterdam, Netherlands.


About the Position:

The Technical Lead will be responsible for guiding the technical direction of software development projects, ensuring high-quality code, and mentoring team members. This role requires a strong understanding of software engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


About the Position:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to the development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

  • Architecture and Design: Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design scalable and maintainable software solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges and roadblocks, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Project Management: Assist in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.

  • Mentorship: Mentor and support team members in their professional development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of technical designs, processes, and code to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.

  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement process improvements, tools, and technologies that enhance team productivity and software quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of technology project plans and deliverables

  • Serve as a technical representative for the organization

  • Acts as a liaison between the Director, clients, and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and ensuring involvement or decision-making at the proper time.

  • In project meetings, support the Director and senior management by assuming responsibility forcompletion of relevant action items.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Director

  • Be an active member of the local Software Development leadership team

  • Create appropriate reporting content in MS Office

  • Coordinate and work closely with various stakeholders - internal and external, and other functions such as Facilities, Finance etc.

  • Work with different time zones to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or similar role.

  • Architecture Knowledge: Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and best practices.

  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and foster a positive team culture.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another field of engineering (or have equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace domain experience

  • Working with airlines in a software development leadership role

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Experience of migrating applications to the cloud

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, containerization).

  • Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).

  • Experience in mentoring and coaching junior developers.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite (3 days a week). This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
