Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) seeks an Audio/Visual Engineer to join our Mission Systems Operations team in Herndon, VA.  Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth.  We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio in design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain for a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers. 

As Audio-Visual Engineer you will be a part of a high-performing team with the opportunity to solve customer issues, connect with senior engineers, contribute to help desk, provide users with training, and attend inter-agency working group meetings.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated designs including system architectures for current operations and program growth, facility design, hardware selection, software selection and development, system integration, testing, operations and maintenance (O&M).
  • Maintain relationships with system stakeholders and customers.
  • Perform system monitoring, integration, hardware and software installation, configuration, and upgrades of servers to support audio-visual architecture.
  • Perform product and component management to ensure technical viability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate product usability, affordability, functionality, security, and performance to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments.
  • Plan and coordinate complex audio-visual software and hardware for enterprise release.
  • Ensure systems conform to architectural objectives.
  • Evaluate complex systems’ production readiness and supportability.
  • Perform complex system problem identification and resolution.
  • Use CAD and Visio to develop system design artifacts, signal flow diagrams, equipment elevations, BOM’s, and configuration guides.
  • Upload and troubleshoot control system files (Creston, Extron, AMX, Thinklogical).
  • Upload, modify, and troubleshoot audio Digital Signal Processor files (Biamp, QSC, etc...).
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot large-scale Audio Video and USB (Crestron, Extron, Thinklogical).
  • Perform Windows and Linux administration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Active Counterintelligence polygraph (CIP) is required with ability to obtain Full Scope polygraph (FSP) post-start.
  • 3+ years or more of experience setting up and supporting large-scale Audio-Visual systems.
  • 3+ years or more of experience communicating with customer representatives, in both written and spoken form, regarding technical subjects.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • CTS or CTS-I certification

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range:

Mid-Level (level 3): $108,800 - $147,200

Lead (level 4): $129,200 - $174,800


Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
