The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Facilities Project Management Specialist to join our Global Real Estate & Facilities Project and Construction Management team in El Segundo, CA.

The selected individual will lead major construction and tenant fit-out projects in El Segundo and other Boeing sites, responsible for managing all aspects of large-scale facility projects, from pre-construction planning through project execution to commissioning and project closeout.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and formalization of integrated project execution plans, in accordance with accepted project management principles based on the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), which includes: project team charters; stakeholder registers; work and organizational breakdown structures; methods for establishing cost, schedule and scope baselines; change management process; risk, issues and opportunity management; communication plan; and project commissioning and close-out plans.
  • Consolidate independently generated project data, by interfacing with functional specialist (Global Real Estate, Planning, Supply Chain, Security & Fire Protection, Information Technology, Audio-Video, Facilities Management, etc.) on cross-functional teams, to ensure stakeholder understanding of trade-offs amongst cost, schedule, quality and risk
  • Recommend appropriate actions to business partners and other stakeholders to satisfy project goals and objectives
  • Establish baseline critical path schedules to integrate all elements of the work-breakdown structure and resources. Monitor milestones and task activities to ensure timely completion of project.  Perform variance analysis and make recommendations for change, to ensure schedule commitments are met
  • Develop qualitative and quantitative cost estimates from high-level to detailed requirements and conditions.  Establish and monitor cost baselines to ensure projects are funded appropriately and delivered at the budget target.  Perform variance analysis and make recommendations for change, to ensure cost targets are met
  • Reviewing projects to ensure that the scope and schedule are achievable with the given time and budget and undertaking periodic reviews to ensure that projects are on track
  • Implement required communication plan to project sponsors, stakeholders and senior leadership for the purpose of communicating project(s) status, identifying issues and recommending resolutions
  • Lead stakeholders in identifying and documenting necessary requirements, ensuring appropriate standards, guidelines, regulations and procedures are applied
  • Lead teams of internal and external functional specialist through the lifecycle (requirements, design, construct, install, commission and close-out) of facilities projects
  • Lead project Change Control Boards, to ensure deviations from the baseline plans are properly documented, analyzed and submitted for approval or rejection.  Incorporate approved changes into work statements, cost and schedule baselines
  • Utilize Risk Management tools and methodology to identify, assess and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management to establish and negotiate supplier, contractor and material procurement strategies and tactics
  • Report on project performance to stakeholders

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience
  • 10+ years of experience leading facility construction projects, from inception (documenting detailed requirements and building a project execution plan) through design, permitting and construction, to commissioning and close-out utilizing accepted project management principles and methodology
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with team-members, senior leaders and business partners, and external suppliers
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with project management best practices including, but not limited to, scope management, scheduling, budget management, and risk management
  • Experience generating and proctoring executive report outs on project and/or program status

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Degree in the field of Project Management or Construction Management
  • Proficiently utilize Procore
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience constructing SCIF applying ICD-705 criteria
  • Experience managing multiple projects that feed into one overall program
  • Experience in aviation industry or engineering

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $141,950 - $192,050
