Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking a Non-Destructive Test Quality Specialist (Mid-Level or Senior) to support operations in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Please specify all NDT certifications and levels earned in candidate resume submitted for application.

This position may primarily work on 1st or 2nd shift and may also require variable shift work, which may include 1st, 2nd or 3rd. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with ASNT Level IIPAUT, RT or ET certifications with documented classroom and OJT hours.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 3:

  • Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment. Develops procedures and processes.
  • Performs tests or inspections and collects data.
  • Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations. Provides feedback on adverse trends.
  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products.
  • Conducts certification preparation training.

Level 4:

  • Guides the development or improvement of non-destructive inspection or test techniques.
  • Develops, deploys and implements tests or inspections and data collection techniques utilizing evolving technology.
  • Develops program specific non-destructive testing documents.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures for new or revised non-destructive testing methods. Audits, validates and approves systems and techniques of suppliers and processors.
  • Develops certification training and examinations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • NAS 410 NDT Level 2 with ASNT Qualifications in a minimum of two of the following NDE disciplines: Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Ultrasonic (UT), Radiography (RT), Eddy Current (ET), Infrared Thermography (IRT)
  • Ability to work any shift if required dependent on business needs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current or previous PAUT and/or Radiography NDT Certification (Level 2 or Level 3)
  • A degree in related discipline and 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean and Employee Involvement.
  • Current Radiation Safety State Card or ASNT IRRSP.
  • Current or previous Eddy Current Level 2 certification.

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): USD 75,900 – 96,600

Summary pay range for senior level (Level 4): USD 89,100 – 113,400
