BoeingCommercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Test Specialist (Level 3) to support the 787 Quality Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment.

  • Develops procedures and processes.

  • Performs tests or inspections and collects data.

  • Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations.

  • Provides feedback on adverse trends.

  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products.

  • Conducts certification preparation training

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Boeing South Carolina (BSC) site.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

  • 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)

  • 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units.

  • 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques.

  • Capable of working in confined spaces and fit through a 10X18 oval opening

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Current or prior NAS410 Certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing. Must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

  • Current or prior NAS410 Certified Level 2 in Eddy Current Testing Must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

  • Must be capable of working in confined spaces and fit through a 10” x 18” opening

  • Must be able to work from heights in excess of 125 feet

  • Analyzing and interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans is an asset

  • Digital radiography experience is an asset

  • Experience inspecting composite material is an asset

  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Drug Free Workplace:

This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.

Shift Work Statement:

This position is for variable shift. Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation of the need.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $70,100 - $87,000
