Boeing Global Services (BGS) is hiring a Senior Support Engineering Data Specialist to support E-4B Nightwatch team in Offutt AFB, NE.

The E-4B “Nightwatch” aircraft is a strategic command and control military aircraft operated by the United States Air Force (USAF).  The aircraft is commercial derivative of 747-200 and serves as a survivable mobile command post for the National Command Authority and is operated by USAF units located at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Nebraska.  This position provides engineering support for the logistics activity of the Mission Assurance Team in support of the USAF fleet of Boeing E-4B aircraft. 

The qualified candidate will evaluate mission system performance and health, and provide recommendations for deficiencies and improvement or system performance. They will provide support to all E-4B teams as the expert for Mission and Avionics Equipment installed on the E-4B aircraft.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads analysis of information to evaluate reported discrepancies. Collaborates with engineering disciplines to influence improvements in product designs and operational criteria.

  • Reviews manufacturing non-conformity data for potential impact to in-service fleet.

  • Initiates and monitors complex quality investigations and participates in development of solutions.

  • Leads teams to conduct research on complex technical, maintenance, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer.

  • Reviews complex problems for potential safety issues.

  • Develops in-service correspondence on complex multi discipline systems for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Participates in complex accident or disabled product on-site surveys or investigations

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher OR equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in post-production sustainment support

  • Experience working with teams across multiple geographic locations

  • Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills

  • 5+ years of experience in maintaining electrical, electronics, or hydraulic equipment, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • 1+ years’ experience with the E-4B aircraft

  • Strong communication skills and customer focus

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience collaborating across multi-functional teams

  • Experience with U.S. Military government aviation and experience partnering with government customers to deliver services and products

  • Knowledgeable in fiber optic repair

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range: $91,800 - $124,200
