Boeing Defense Space & Security is seeking a broad range of levels including Mid-Level and SeniorElectrical Hardware Engineers to join us as part of our Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) In-Service and Project Engineering team.  This position can be located in Richardson, TX or Berkeley, MO.

The Advanced Airborne Sensor is a multifunction radar used on the P-8 Poseidon. The team is responsible for developing and performing engineering for production, sustainment, modification and improvements of military and commercial derivative aircrafts. This position will work closely with the supply chain, suppliers, program manager, contracts, estimating, engineering, and/or customers to execute the program. In this role you integrate technical requirements and schedule demands with suppliers, coordinate engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product, manage a diverse set of projects, and lead proposal development.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides technical management of suppliers. Engages regularly with supply chain to monitor supplier performance. Serves as Equipment Manager for multiple subassemblies.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with suppliers, customers, stakeholders, and peers. Provides technical expertise for electrical equipment across the Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Briefs customer and leadership on program status; risks, issues, and opportunities; and help needed.
  • Develops supplier statements of work (SSOW) to satisfy ongoing and new business requirements. Leads project execution to complete the work statement.
  • Works with our customers to identify product technical requirements and build plans to support their needs.
  • Supports development of customer proposals, including development of competitive pricing and delivery dates.
  • Tracks progress to cost, schedule, and technical performance using Boeing Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and Earned Value Management (EVM).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3 or more years of related work experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in electrical engineering role
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic design and analysis
  • Travel up to 20% required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of related work experience
  • Active U.S. Top Security Clearance
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing supplier performance and/or requirements flow-down
  • Experience with customer proposals and contracting process
  • Experience in Earned Value Management

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 4

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: Level 3 $96,050 -139-150

Summary pay range: Level 4 $119,850 – 173,650
