Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has exciting opportunities for Quality Engineer (Associate level or Mid-Level) to join our Vertical Lift Quality team in Ridley Park, PA

This position will be supporting a fast-paced production environment which may include V22 Osprey,, CH-47 Chinook and/or Core Quality teams.

The successful candidate for this job will work in a fast paced, dynamic team environment supporting quality issues and requires strong communication and skilled in team engagement. The candidate will work will work closely with multiple functions including Material Review Board MRB), Quality specialists, engineering and quality representatives to identify and validate Boeing's quality requirements. Candidates should have data analytics and quality process understanding to be able to communicate quality requirements effectively to support process improvements, Root Cause and Corrective Actions, Non-Conformance Reviews and efficiency improvements.

This position supports a fast-faced production facility, with operations on both 1st and 2nd shift.

Initial training and work shift may primarily be on 1st shift, but will require the ability to work both 1st and/or 2nd shift when needed.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 2:

  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.
  •  Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  •  Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Performs QMS Audits
  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general supervision.

Level 3:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs QMS Audits
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and failure analysis
  • Experience in an aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • Experience in team and group facilitation
  • Experience performing Quality Audits to the AS9100
  • Six Sigma certification

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 2:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level (Level 2): USD 78,200 – 105,800

Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): USD 94,350 – 127,650
