Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeing a Senior Program Manager supporting Harpoon Coastal Defense Systems for the Cruise Missile Systems (CMS) team in Saint Charles, MO. This is exciting opportunity to work within the Weapons portfolio within Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS).

The selected candidate will have oversight and management responsibility for the Harpoon Coastal Defense System Missile program. The selected candidate will be responsible for the execution to complete missile development and the production program as well as helping to shape future requirements working with US Navy. Candidate will also manage relationships with suppliers, peer functions and international customer. Skills required for this position include an understanding of project management and ability to manage specific efforts throughout the lifecycle including acquisition, development, production and sustainment. In addition, candidate should be able to demonstrate ability to work across functions and have strong communication, leadership and problem solving skills.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Lead all program management activities to ensure program requirements are established and are fully integrated
  • Establishes and communicates objectives and goals to ensure common direction and delivery of high quality products and services on-time
  • Provides technical, cost and schedule performance oversight, including technical management of suppliers
  • Establishes and uses Program Management Best Practices to manage budgets, maintain schedule, identify and mitigate risks and issues, and develop program goals
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and partners
  • Works with the Capabilities and Functional Organizations to: define and obtain required staffing, identify, track and communicate issues and actions, seek team input to promote rapid resolution to issues, coach and provide feedback/reward on performance indicators
  • Drive completion of critical path tasks, partner with functions to solve issues with customers and suppliers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years’ experience in Project or Program Management
  • 3+ years’ experience leading cross functional teams
  • 3 + years’ experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Experience with development programs
  • Strong communication skills and experience in interacting with executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • More than 3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and able to multi-task and manage expectations
  • Experience working in a Missiles and Weapons environment

Summary pay range: $157,250– $212,750
