Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Team Lead Flight Readiness Technician (Level C) to assist with multiple areas of the production system to support Boeing South Carolina 787 program in San Antonio, Texas on Variable Shift!

Flight Readiness Technicians perform rework, modification, maintenance, preflight and post-flight checks for delivery, including, troubleshooting pre and post-flight checks and performs maintenance and modification actions for delivery. This position will provide critical production support to the Delivery Center including improving production efficiency and safety and optimizing product quality. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs flight test installations and aircraft functional testing.

  • Assists in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and avionics systems to isolate mechanical and/or faults and assists in repairing faulty components.

  • Assists with pre-flight and post-flight checks and performs maintenance and modification actions.

  • Builds effective resource plans by coordinating with peer team leads to mitigate and manage schedule/build conflicts

  • Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader. Updates and communicates BPS metrics.

  • Identifies KPI (PSQDCI) improvement actions

  • Able to work pre and post shift overtime as required to assess status of build, assign daily work, cover for labor loss, in times of surge and rework

  • Leads team in daily safety check-in

  • Monitors and reports daily progress to plan

  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk

  • Documents and communicates shift turnover

  • Establishes overtime requirements and staffing

  • Responsible to monitor and control FOD, 5S and Tools

  • Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues

  • Creates standardized work instructions

  • Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training

  • Responsible for BPS process improvements

  • Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.“U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience)

  • Must be able to work any shift including days, nights and weekends.

  • 3+ years of experience with live aircraft systems and flight operations.

  • 3+ years' of avionics and/or electrical experience.

  • 3+ years' of experience with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk.

  • 3+ year of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.

  • 1+ years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • 1+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant license.

  • Minimum 3 months of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.

  • Minimum 3 months of 787 Program Experience.

  • Familiar with Boeing Production System.

  • Experience with Field/Flight Line Operations

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Summary pay range (Experienced): 78,000 – 81,900
