Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Maintenance Operations Center (GMOC) Controller located at the Missile Defense Integration and Operation Center (MDIOC) at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Schriever AFB, Colorado.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Member of a 2-person team that researches, analyzes, and compiles complex technical data for the GMD program in the operational and test environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle
  • Maintains configuration control of the GMD System 24/7/365 days a year supporting the Missile Defense Agency and warfighter community
  • Performing asset management functions in support of development, operational, and sustainment activities
  • Supports GMD System Transition Director and coordinates the transition of the GMD System or movement of individual assets between Test and Operational environments
  • Situational Awareness reporting for customers and Boeing Leadership
  • Facilitate system maintenance execution providing real time deconfliction
  • Able to quickly assess situations and apply proper knowledge and procedures to support rapid decision making and reporting
  • Writing, reviewing and updating operational checklists, processes and procedures, and plans, and determine cause for system malfunctions by applying advanced operational concepts analysis principles and concepts
  • Deploy/travel to other GMD operational sites
  • Briefs senior government officials and senior Boeing management
  • Facilitates resolutions to issues between the GMOC, developmental teams, operations sites, and other support activities,
  • Operate under high tempo, demanding conditions
  • Must be willing to work rotating 12 hour shifts typically 7 on 7 off, either night or day, including weekends and holidays, in an operations center.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills in order to successfully perform the required functions.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) An interim and/or final U.S, Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced operations environment
  • Previous experience preparing and briefing senior level executives and officials

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years of related work experience, 10 years of related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift: This position is for variable shift, starting as shift 1 for training and then will start variable shift after training.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $80,750 - 109,250
