The Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA.

As a Metrology engineer you will have an important and exciting role in the company that could include working with Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment with a focus on radio, high frequency and microwave electronics. Process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE. Process equipment manufacturer's performance specifications. Engage with outside vendors of test equipment, designing and building test fixtures, programming software, and developing procedures to test new equipment. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day.

Metrology is the science of measurement and includes all theoretical and practical aspects of measurement. Metrology engineering covers the basic understanding of how measurement accuracy and precision impacts our ability to make repeatable and reproducible measurements throughout Boeing, basic understanding of the importance of measurement traceability and the role calibration plays in establishing traceability, and the quality systems that support these processes.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of moderate scope and impact

  • Makes routine contacts with customers

  • Utilizes appropriate tools, processes and procedures

  • Assists with the design of calibration systems

  • Aids in the development of data processing tools and algorithms

  • Authors calibration procedures and conducts measurement uncertainty evaluations

  • Calibration data analysis. Conducts calibration data validity using established Metrology practices and procedures

  • Measurement uncertainty evaluation and equipment service interval analysis

  • Supports in developing project plans using the principles of project management and performance goals

  • Gathers and analyzes requirements for measurement and test equipment calibration

  • Aids with the calibration and certification of tools and measurement and test equipment

  • Support maintenance of the calibration system

  • Supports maintenance of reference standards traceability, calibration procedures and software

  • Develops solutions to emergent requirements during day-to-day activities

  • Software automation of radio & high frequency electronics

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. Tomeet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 1+ years of experience in Metrology and/or measurement science

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Metrology and/or measurement science

  • 1+ years of experience in Project Management and/or technical integration

  • Experience building relationships with internal/external customers

  • Experience in fault diagnosis, repair, and calibration of complex automatic test stations

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level: $85,850 – $116,150

Summary pay range for mid-level: $102,000 – $138,000
