Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an F/A-18 Development Program Manager. This L-level Program Manager will act as the F/A-18 Advanced Systems Deputy Program Manager The qualified candidate must have a great working relationship with peers, senior leaders, and executives using strong collaboration, communication, and people skills. The position is located in Berkely, MO.

Air Dominance, Fighters, F/A-18 Development Program is seeking an experienced program manager with strong project management and leadership experience to support the United States Navy (USN) Advanced Mission Systems and Software Development efforts associated with the F/A-18 and EA-18G. We are seeking a proactive, self-starter, highly motivated leader to join our team. In this challenging and complex role, you will be managing the program management baselines to support the capabilities being developed in the portfolio.  Program Management best practices combined with a high level of discipline and follow-through are additional attributes to the successful candidate.  The ideal candidate will work under minimal supervision, be biased towards action, find creative solutions, and enable the rest of the program to meet their commitments.  This position requires a current Secret clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Program clearances and Top Secret clearance. This position will directly report to the F/A-18 Advanced Systems Program Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executes the Advanced Mission Systems program battle rhythm 
  • Manages the day-to-day tasking of the project management team
  • Evaluates IMS and EV performance and delivers insight and recommendations
  • Maintains and improves the program management baselines
  • Drives integration between major activities, teams, suppliers, partners, and customers
  • Highlights and drives resolution of program issues
  • Supports the program manager in leading program execution by developing and coordinating program metrics
  • Implements Program Management Best Practices
  • Provides in-depth analysis of project culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.
  • Leads Corrective Action Plan through functional and DCMA partnership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion
  • 3+ years of experience working in ambiguous and fast-changing environments
  • 3+ Years of working with government customers
  • Experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s  Degree or higher degree or equivalent
  • Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) using EVM (earned value management)
  • Familiarity with BORIS and Risk Management
  • Experience working Corrective Actions with DCMA
  • A current Top Secret Security clearance

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: USD $157,250 – 212,750
