The Opportunity

At Boeing Defence Australia, our customers are operating in a challenging and rapidly changing environment. They need our expertise to rapidly deliver minimum viable capabilities that enhance their decision-making superiority and integrated effects across a multi-domain battlespace.

Join our team in Brisbane, where we work closely with our customers to understand their needs, emergent technologies and operational challenges to evolve existing and introduce new products to tackle the complex Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) problems faced by the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

We have multiple positions available at different levels of experience.

Responsibilities

In the role you will:

  • Apply your systems engineering skills to understand current capabilities and analyze the need for changes to meet emerging requirements.
  • Manage impacts and changes to system configuration, ensuring continuity of operation.
  • Contribute to new business and organic growth activities by scoping, estimating, and planning engineering activities.
  • Collaborate with end users, customers, suppliers, and peer organizations to ensure solutions are tightly focused on addressing capability needs.
  • Work within integrated product teams to plan, design, build, integrate, test, and deliver solutions.
  • Support integration and test events by deploying, testing and improving our products and systems in representative environments.

Experience/Qualifications

To thrive in the role you will:

  • Have experience in systems engineering within complex defence programs, preferably across the entire systems lifecycle.
  • Have experience working with or in product development teams, with a focus on communications and/or command & control system products.
  • Have experience in developing and managing configuration change proposals throughout a technical lifecycle.
  • Possess an engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Desirably, have specific experience working with deployed land systems in challenging communications environments
