Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Facilities Plant Electrical Engineerto support our dynamic team in Hazelwood, Missouri

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads project teams to develops complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the architectural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds.
  • Reviews mechanical designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Provides oversight to identify errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements.
  • Leads in the production or procurement of detailed design documents.
  • Uses appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters.
  • Identifies appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology.
  • Plans, manages, and executes large or complex projects.
  • Manages project expenditures within authorized budgets.
  • Creates, maintains, and communicates project management information.
  • Ensures suppliers comply with all contract obligations.
  • Leads in the interpretation and analysis of applicable regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances with respect to project requirements.
  • Provides support, as required, to secure permits
  • Liaise with utility providers and governmental regulatory bodies on all the Facilities related matters
  • Develop and maintain facility one-line diagrams
  • Interface with consultants as require to support major facility electrical projects
  • Maintain data base of electrical related equipment (e.g. transformers, disconnects, wire sizes, etc)
  • Participate in the selection and work with consulting electrical engineers as required
  • Expertise designing panel layouts that minimize space and comply with manufacturer’s specifications
  • Troubleshoots, investigates and determines causes for failure, inefficiencies, and systems/equipment repair or modification
  • Leads and coordinates repairs. Maintains flexibility to directly supervise work issues, problems, or emergencies
  • Establish pm schedules for transformers and switch gear as well as req
  • Understands standards and specifications, recommends changes to resolve design and construction problems, and writes periodic progress reports
  • Provides design information, reviewing and approving proposals and serving as primary electrical contact
  • Estimates costs for equipment, materials and installation as a basis for determining the feasibility of alternatives and return on investment
  • Approves drawings, specifies equipment and writes purchase requisitions as needed

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in an engineering or science related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in a production focused engineering role
  • Experience with Facilities Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in high voltage power supply and power modulator theory, design, fabrication, and testing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years with Model Based Engineering tools
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system
  • Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and mechanics on the factory floor
  • Experience with Root Cause corrective Analysis
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range: USD 96,050 - $129,950
