Senior Software Application Developer (Virtual)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Virtual Senior Software Application Developer.  This role is part of a small team that is moving transportation into the future.  You will be a key player on an Agile software team collaborating closely with Field Support Techs and Tapestry customers to implement new functionality and provide technical support for Tapestry’s Global Distribution Management System (GDMS.)  You will work closely with management to transform commercial and Department of Defense customer visions of future transportation scenarios and logistics challenges into today’s solutions.

GDMS is software suite providing command-and-control capabilities to commercial trucking companies, private security firms, and logistics for companies transporting equipment, fuel, medical supplies and other cargo internationally and often in austere environments.  GDMS acts as a central data-fusion system and gateway providing satellite based In-Transit Visibility, tracking movements and incidents, planning routes, and managing contractors’ performance by providing the users with total situational awareness for their ground logistics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development role directly involved in all phases of the software lifecycle from refining requirements to product delivery
  • Perform full stack development including software design, coding & testing of new web-based applications
  • Support integration and resolving operational issues across software components

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience web application architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) or cloud-based development
  • 5+ years of experience web application development using React, Redux, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot
  • 5+ years of experience web GIS mapping development
  • Hands-on experience with relational database concepts and SQL, MSSQL and PostgreSQL preferred.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience with cross-platform development for web and mobile applications.
  • Experience in UI/UX design.
  • Working experience with RESTful API implementation, and microservices-based application development
  • Experience with DevOps supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Experience working in an Agile Development Environment

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualification, as well as market and business considerations.  Summary base pay range $115,000 - $131,000
