Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level or Senior Lean Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Ridley Park, PA.

This person will be responsible for working in partnership with BDS program / plant manufacturing teams, along with other stakeholders throughout the enterprise, to drive the integration of Lean best practices to enable world-class manufacturing system performance and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be expected to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach with internal and external partners and leverage his/her knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety, quality, productivity, and affordability to shape the planning, development, and execution of One Boeing Production Systems solutions to satisfy program needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Instructs others in continuous improvement tools and principles.

  • Assists in formatting updated training materials.

  • Leads and facilitates (Lean tool certified) process improvement efforts.

  • Supports advanced continuous improvement tool application.

  • Participates in strategy development.

  • Conducts Beta tests on new tools.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Shift Work:

This position is for 1st shift.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with Manufacturing/Employee Involvement (EI) teams and optimizing the build process (e.g. work instruction improvement projects)

  • 3+ years of experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Project management experience and a track record of executing high-impact cost reduction and affordability projects

  • Lean Manufacturing experience in aerospace or other manufacturing industry

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3 - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Level 4 – Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Level 5 - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range:

Level 3 - $89,250 - $120,750

Level 4 - $107,100 - $144,900

Level 5 - $135,150 - $182,850
