Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team located in Multiple Locations.

Candidate resumes are required to include preferred city from list of locations.

This is a full time position with a Monday-Friday schedule. This hybrid position can be located within 50 miles of any of the listed locations and will require some presence on site at a local Boeing BDS site.

This senior position will work cross functionally across the BDS divisions, programs/sites. Ideal candidate should have data/analytics and quality process understanding to be able to communicate quality requirements to the stakeholders.  This position will require extensive background in Quality, ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and is required to have proficiency working in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and ability to meet deadlines.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Quality processes including but not limited to Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), Break of Inspection (BOI), Product Verification and Acceptance Planning (PVAP), Internal Boeing Notification (IBN), Product Quality Deficiency Report (PQDR), Significantly Out Of Tolerance (SOOTs), Work Transfers, Enterprise Process Evaluation System (EPES) Surveillances, Line Stock Check (LSC), First Article Inspection (FAI), Cut The Corrs (CTC) and Non-Conformance Management (NCM).

  • Experience working with Senior Leadership in planning, developing and presenting succinct presentations.

  • Proficient to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and be able to meet deadlines.

  • Consults at the business unit level to develop Quality criteria for programs/sites.

  • Oversees the development of Processes, Methods, Tools and metrics to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Leads verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance to validate product and process Quality requirements

  • Develops new methods for conducting product and process validations.

  • Represents Quality in design reviews of the inter-relationship of multiple system

  • Advises on development of methods for testing and approval of products and processes, equipment and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

  • Performs benchmarking of enterprise best practices.

  • Leads cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts.

  • Works under consultative direction.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.

  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.

  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • More than 5 years of experience performing analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to a Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements and/or government regulations

  • More than 5 years of experience do you have presenting and communicating data in Senior Leadership briefings

  • More than 3 years of experience with root cause corrective action

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in the following: GIDEP, BOI, PVAP, IBN, PQDR, SOOTs, Work Transfers, EPES Surveillances, LSC, First Article Inspection (FAI), CTC and NCM Non-Conformance Management

  • More than 8 years of experience performing analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to a Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements and/or government regulations

  • 3 or more years of experience in aerospace industry

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: USD 101,150 – 157,550
