The Opportunity

Join our dynamic MRO Services team as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.

Be part of diverse teams supporting world-class fixed-wing platforms, including the prestigious C-17A Globemaster program for the Royal Australian Air Force.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, modification, servicing, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, your expertise will ensure compliance with regulations and mentorship of subordinate technicians
  • Contribute to critical aerospace programs
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager and collaborating with industry teams at Amberley
  • Foster strong relationships and effective communication in a challenging and rewarding environment

Essential Experience/Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and regulations.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen to be able to possess an Australian NV1 Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications

  • Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) or the ability to obtain
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
  • Prior supervisory or leadership training
  • Have a working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems
  • Hold a C class driver's licence

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Negative Vetting One) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
