What program and team are you a part of, and what kind of work are you doing?

I’m a Human Resources Intern supporting the Enterprise Intern Experience (EIE) team, where I take part in the planning and execution of intern engagement events, as well as the behind-the-scenes work of the program. I get to present on calls with interns joining from across the country, create our weekly intern newsletter and lead the Intern Development team!

How did you hear about our internships and why did you decide to apply?

I discovered the Boeing internship program through the career fairs at my school. I was really impressed by the potential opportunities and mentorships that you could receive as a Boeing intern.

What excites you the most about Boeing’s mission and in what ways is your team making a real-world impact?

It's exciting to be part of a company that continues to change the world and is always striving to be better. Everyone here truly lives by the Boeing values by empowering each other and staying committed to the safety of the people and products. My team aims to provide a world-class experience for interns, where they can obtain knowledge and skills that will jumpstart their future careers. Being on this team allowed me to understand how much Boeing invests in early career talent to develop future leaders of aviation and aerospace.

What has been your favorite experience at your internship so far?

My favorite experience so far has been working onsite where Boeing planes are built right in front of me! It's really inspiring and motivating to engage with the products, while also touring the different assembly buildings to learn more about the business in an immersive way.

In what ways do you feel support from your team?

My team always made my opinions and contributions feel valuable in meetings. They truly believe in my capabilities and let me take ownership of meaningful projects that challenge me while still checking in on how I am feeling about my workload and if I need any support. They make sure I’m aware of any learning opportunities as well as providing me with exceptional mentorship and guidance.

How has your internship shaped your educational and career goals?

This internship provided me with a vast network of talented individuals and leaders with different educational and developmental experiences that also align with my own career goals. The program gave me the opportunity to shadow other teams and learn about other areas of HR I could be interested in, which has been very beneficial when figuring out what I would like to do after graduation.

What are your tips for accomplishing your best work?

Always say ‘yes’ to opportunities that will allow you to grow your understanding of the business as well as aid in your professional development. The internship program provides a lot of resources that employees can utilize to help them do their best work. Most importantly, build relationships with your teammates and don't be afraid to ask questions! You aren’t expected to know everything right away. It's okay to reach out for guidance.

What advice do you have for students who are interested in interning with us?

I would 100% go for it. The internship experience is so unique and you aren’t treated as just an intern, but rather as someone who can shape the future of Boeing. Try to learn as much as possible about the company by networking with individuals that have your career of interest. Figure out which part of Boeing's mission excites you and how you have portrayed Boeing’s values in your past experiences. If you’re passionate about what Boeing has to offer, bring your most authentic self to the interview and ask thoughtful questions.
