The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Embedded Systems Group Senior Engineering Manager located in Albuquerque, NM in support of Laser and Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS). 

The Embedded Systems Group manager will lead a team of firmware and hardware engineers that develop high performance Directed Energy and Electro-Optical Systems for a wide variety of customers.  The algorithms for these systems are typically deployed on embedded hardware using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) in combination with a General-Purpose Processor (GPP).   Boeing is seeking highly skilled engineering manager to the lead our team that develops these critical embedded systems solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquire resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develop and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Work Authorization:

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with leading or managing a team on an IR&D project or new product development
  • Experience with designing, developing and testing complex embedded systems
  • Experience with integration of embedded software onto hardware

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge of system engineering concepts, processes, and methods in all phases of development.
  • Experience with testing of complex embedded systems

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: 155,550 – 210,450
