Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First Line Procurement Manager(Level K) to join our Secondary StructuresContracting Team in Auburn, Washington. This position manages a team located in Auburn, WA, and requires weekly trips to Everett supporting leadership meetings.

The Procurement Manager will directly manage Contract procurement agents in a team environment and have interfacing relationships with engineering, finance, quality and operations. You will also regularly interface with existing and potentially new suppliers. You will ensure your team established and maintains supply contracts for approximately 90 secondary structures supplier which produce sheet metal, machined parts and assemblies, and composites. In addition, you will support and manage BCA’s Community Manufacturing Program, which supports local non-profit suppliers with unique mission statements that support our local communities.

This role will lead all procurement activities and keep the business operations running efficiently by leading their team. The ideal candidate will ensure all items and services are accurately acquired, so that projects and processes can proceed efficiently and optimally to drive the overall success of the company. They will simultaneously lead multiple contracting activities while partnering with internal customers to ensure a One Boeing approach!

Primary Responsibilities:   

  • Manages Procurement Agent employees performing activities related to committing company resources to purchase goods and services, developing supplier strategies, development of bid packages, proposal analysis, and development of contracts.

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Provides oversight regarding negotiation processes and related tools.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change 

  • 5+ years of experience within Supplier Management, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement practices and processes

  • 5+ years of experience establishing relationships and maintaining strong on-going communication with customers, suppliers and/or vendors

  • 5+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing teams and projects

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $123,671 – $151,153
