We are seeking a talented Global Trade Control Specialist to join the Boeing team.

Global Trade Controls is a strategic business partner that enables Boeing’s business and accelerates Boeing’s global growth by providing expert guidance on complex trade requirements and regulations.  Global Trade Controls collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to solve problems, offer innovative solutions, and shape regulatory policies to advance Boeing’s long-term objectives.  Global Trade Controls as a governance team fosters a culture of compliance and helps identify and mitigate risks across the enterprise.

This non-management role can be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne and is part of a global team that may require the successful applicant to attend meetings outside regular business hours. Due to this fact, the role also allows much flexibility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide Boeing entities throughout Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific with advanced technical guidance across regulatory export requirements;
  • Implement internal controls for trade control compliance, directing trade control activity, and acting as a Boeing liaison with government agencies for trade control-related issues;
  • Lead the development of company positions in coordination with key stakeholders;
  • Work closely with the US and Global trade controls teams to ensure appropriate drafting and implementation of trade control authorities;
  • Analyse applicability of global trade control requirements to DCS and FMS Programs;
  • Providing technical classification jurisdiction determinations, working with customers and US counterparts.

Role Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law or related disciplines are favourable, but not essential;
  • 7-10 years’ advanced knowledge of sovereign Australian export controls regulations, as well as US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) is required;
  • Legal, Policy or Legislative Experience;
  • Acquisition experience in the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) or Prime Contractor organisation;
  • Substantial experience in Supply Chain, Logistics and Customs Procedures; and/or
  • Effective customer service, strong communication and influencing skills working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain NV1 clearance to meet defence security requirements.
