The Boeing Company is looking for a DevOps Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced/Senior) to join our Phantom Works Space team in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This position will support the development of cutting-edge CI/CD pipelines for our Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) programs.

Boeing is developing reliable and efficient pipelines leveraging cutting edge technology, supporting a diverse portfolio of applications and programs.  We seek candidates who have strong systems communication and organizational skills. The position requires a wide range of technical and project management skills, along with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders (customer, Boeing, supplier) to ensure the best value is delivered. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing reliable and efficient pipelines based upon the latest technology and implementation approach.

Our teams are hiring for a broad range of experience levels including mid-level and senior software engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Champion the use of automation tools and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows and accelerate software delivery
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver the best value

  • Work independently to identify solutions to complex problems.
  • Think abstractly and see the big picture while evaluating technical details
  • Represent Boeing in a professional manner while navigating multiple stakeholders

  • Support the transition of application development towards unified mission management

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) A final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.  Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD)
  • 1+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Vagrant)
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud-native and containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
  • 1+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • 1+ years of experience with Linux operating system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • 3+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
  • 3+ years of experience with infrastructure as code technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud-native and containerization technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting languages
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux operating system
  • 3+ years of experience working with MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation
  • Experience with a broad range of newer language such as Golang or Rust
  • Experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience in installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of OpenStack and Ceph
  • Experience in software-defined networking, the underlay/overlay networking model, and supporting Neutron-based Openstack deployments
  • Experience supporting identity management, certificate services, and secrets management in a cloud environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to improve the developer experience
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment using Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or GitLab

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

Level 2/Associate:  $85,000 - $115,000

Level 3/Experienced: $104,550 - $141,450

Level 4/Senior: $122,400 - $165,600
