Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Experienced and Senior Supplier Quality Production Specialist (Investigations) to support Supplier Quality Component Performance and Reliability (CPR) team located in Everett and Renton, WA.

The selected candidate will be based at one of these sites with frequent travel between them.

The investigator will support our Everett and Renton airplane programs by performing a collective analysis of nonconformance records to identify systemic issues and opportunities to obtain corrective action from our global suppliers.

In this role, one will be expected to: Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, sr. leaders, executives, and airline customers. Track and respond to supplier communication. Support program integration, customer, and leadership meetings. Report out to airline customers and executive leadership. Work well and maintain composure under high stress and complex projects. Demonstrates a proactive, can-do attitude. Willing to go above and beyond to ensure team success. Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and validates product nonconformance dispositions, quality procedures, and engineering requirements.
  • It requires frequent travel to suppliers, both domestic and international (Up to 30%).
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations, and processes to meet the quality management system requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements, or government regulations.
  • Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems, and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
  • Works directly with Boeing Laboratories to test and diagnose component faults.
  • Trains and mentors fellow employees in the Quality Management System. Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Independently develops, modifies, and documents actions to ensure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and document resolution.
  • Obtains corrective action on nonconforming plans and processes.
  • Negotiates concurrence, obtains preventive and corrective action commitments, prioritizes quality activities, and ensures problem resolution.
  • Review and validate the corrective action plans and identify them effectively to ensure completion.
  • Reviews and approves Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes.
  • Develops system processes to support changing industry standards.
  • Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering-defined requirements.
  • Interprets industry standards and provides recommendations for implementation.
  • Creates analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution.
  • Creates presentations of RCCA and verbally reports out to Sr. and Executive Leadership
  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with Complex Engineering and/or Manufacturing Processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality, Production Engineering or Manufacturing role.
  • 3+ years of experience in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, or Investigation.
  • 3+ years of experience interfacing with and presenting to senior and/or executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with the Boeing Problem Solving Model.
  • Experience in Aerospace Quality.
  • Experience with Avionics and Components.
  • Experience interfacing directly with suppliers.
  • Experience with systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Presenting to Airline Customer.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor + 1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor + 4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Experienced: $89,250 - $120,750

Summary pay range for Senior: $111,350 - $150,650
