The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Boeing Global Services based out of Hazelwood, MO.

There is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing and innovative analytics software team.  The team is part of the Boeing Government Services Analytics in Training, Digital & Analytics (TD&A) in Boeing Global Services (BGS).  The qualified candidate will fill the role of Software Engineer to join the team in St. Louis, MO.  This position will focus on supporting US and International Government programs within BGS.

A successful candidate will be able to work on a hybrid, agile team that works both virtually and in-office as needed with other team members to help develop and deliver analytics software solutions to support military platforms like F/A-18, F-15, etc.  Primary tasks would include gathering requirements for writing software code for web and database applications, documentation and maintenance of architectures, algorithms, interfaces and designs for data analytics related software.  Other tasks include integration of software components into fully functional software systems and assisting with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

Position Responsibilities:

  • With general supervision and guidance, develops, documents, maintains and unit tests code by utilizing advanced software development environments and programming languages such as C#.
  • Develops, documents and maintains software design by applying established methods and practices working within an agile framework.
  • Assists in the specification and maintenance of software requirements.
  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Troubleshoot software issues.
  • Interact with System Engineers and Data Scientists to develop the analytics software products.
  • Integrates and compiles software components into builds. May test limited component level software in the target environment.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or other technical degree
  • 3+ years of experience in developing software
  • Software development experience in C#
  • Fluent in CSS, JavaScript and HTML
  • Experience with testing, writing test plans, conducting tests, and writing test reports
  •  1+ years of experience using SQL for application interactions with databases (i.e. Oracle, MYSQL, SQL Server, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Fluent in CSS, JavaScript and HTML
  • Development experience with a modern JavaScript-based web application front end framework such as React, Vue or Angular
  • Experience with the Blazor framework
  • Experience with one or more agile tools (i.e. Jira, VersionOne, Azure DevOps, Digital.ai, and/or other leading agile tools)
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD process and code delivery pipeline, using tools like GitLab & Jenkins
  • Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Python and other scripting languages


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $104,550 - $141,450
